Data Engineer

As a Teradata Data Engineer within the Software Engineering – BIBDA function at VOIS in Pune, India, you will be instrumental in supporting and enhancing enterprise data platforms. Your primary responsibilities will include developing and maintaining Teradata-based data load and unload routines, facilitating production migrations, and ensuring high service availability through meticulous design, comprehensive documentation, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of data load and unload routines utilizing Teradata utilities.
• Support the migration of software updates and new releases, including the preparation and execution of production readiness checks.
• Generate clear and concise Low-Level Design (LLD) documents, collaborating with architects and adhering to High-Level Designs.
• Design, construct, and maintain reusable technical frameworks to enhance delivery efficiency and standardization.
• Provide technical guidance for smaller projects and ongoing enhancements.
• Develop and present reports using Power BI or similar visualization tools.
• Publish regular status updates (daily, weekly, monthly) to business users and IT stakeholders.
• Manage database refresh and decommissioning activities while upholding exceptional service availability for Vodafone customers.
• Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to their technical growth.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Strong expertise in Teradata architecture, tools, and utilities.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL.
• Solid working knowledge of UNIX environments.
• 1-2 years of professional experience in data engineering or database development.
• A Bachelor of Engineering/Technology (B.E./B.Tech), Master of Computer Applications (MCA), or Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, document solutions effectively, and adhere to organizational policies and standards.
