Morgan Stanley is seeking a Data Engineer specializing in Parametric solutions to join their team in Mumbai, India. This role involves end-to-end development lifecycle collaboration, from gathering requirements to deployment and enhancements. You will design and implement scalable data solutions, focusing on robust data platforms for applications. Key responsibilities include coding, testing, and documenting data systems, ensuring consistency with overall architecture, and expanding data platform capabilities to address new challenges.
The ideal candidate will create data flow diagrams, implement security and recovery tools, and design logical and physical databases to support business needs. You will also develop, test, and maintain data applications and models in coordination with business stakeholders and project managers. A critical aspect of the role is resolving model conflicts and ensuring data model consistency within the ecosystem. You will champion data management best practices, contribute to data policies, and evaluate emerging technologies and releases.
Furthermore, this position requires contribution to business continuity and disaster recovery planning for data systems. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering, or equivalent experience, is expected. Requirements include 5+ years of data engineering, data science, or software engineering experience, with at least 3 years each in Snowflake and the AWS cloud stack (S3, IAM, Athena, SNS, SQS, EMR). Proficiency in SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, Python, and Linux bash is essential. Experience architecting highly scalable distributed systems, agile methodologies, object-oriented design, and Big Data batch and streaming tools is highly valued.
Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills are necessary to work effectively with business users, stakeholders, and other developers. The role also emphasizes building strong work ethics, fostering open dialogue, and promoting team success. Experience in the Financial Services Industry is a plus, as are AWS or Snowflake certifications.
