Full Job Description
Morgan Stanley is seeking a Data Engineer - Parametric to join their team in Mumbai, India. This role involves collaborating on the full development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment, bug fixes, and enhancements. You will design and implement data solutions, code, test, and document new and modified data systems to build a robust and scalable data platform. Responsibilities include ensuring data solution consistency with developers, expanding data platform capabilities, creating data flow diagrams, implementing security and recovery tools, designing logical and physical databases, and developing/maintaining data applications. You will coordinate with business stakeholders and project managers on data model design, resolve model conflicts, and uphold data management best practices and policies. This position requires evaluating new technologies and contributing to business continuity and disaster recovery plans for data systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, or software engineering.
- 3+ years of experience with Snowflake.
- 3+ years of experience with AWS cloud stack (S3, IAM, Athena, SNS, SQS, EMR) or similar cloud technologies.
- 3+ years of experience with SQL Server, including tools like SSIS and SSRS.
- Programming experience in Python and Linux bash.
- Capability of architecting highly scalable distributed systems using open-source tools.
- Demonstrated experience with agile or other rapid application development methods.
- Demonstrated experience with object-oriented design, coding, and testing patterns.
- Expert knowledge of data modeling and understanding of various data structures.
- Experience using Big Data batch and streaming tools.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for effective interaction with business users, stakeholders, and developers.
- Ability to foster a strong work ethic, promote open dialogue, and drive individual and team success.
- Financial Services Industry experience is a plus.
- AWS or Snowflake certifications are a plus.
