Data Engineer

Morgan Stanley is seeking a Data Engineer specializing in Parametric systems to join their team in Mumbai, India. This role involves end-to-end collaboration on development projects, from requirements gathering and design to deployment, bug fixing, and enhancements. The Data Engineer will work with team members to design and implement scalable data solutions, ensuring consistency across data platforms and applications. Key responsibilities include expanding data platform capabilities, creating data flow diagrams, implementing security and recovery tools, designing logical and physical data models, and developing/maintaining data applications. The role requires strong collaboration with business stakeholders and project managers, resolving data model conflicts, and upholding data management best practices and policies. Additionally, the engineer will evaluate new technologies, contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery planning, and implement agile development methodologies. Experience with Snowflake, AWS cloud technologies (S3, IAM, Athena, SNS, SQS, EMR), SQL Server (SSIS, SSRS), Python, and Linux bash is essential. Proficiency in architecting highly scalable distributed systems, object-oriented design, and data modeling is expected. Experience in the financial services industry is a plus.
