Data Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Big Data Developer with 6 to 9 years of industry experience to contribute to impactful Microsoft technology-based projects for global clients.

As a member of our core Assurance practice, you will develop deep audit-related technical knowledge and enhance your database, data analytics, and programming skills. You will work collaboratively with partners, clients, and subject matter experts to design, develop, implement, and integrate technology solutions that improve audit client services and engagement team efficiency. This role involves tackling the increasing complexities of data regulation by developing innovative technological solutions for data gathering, organization, and analysis.

The GDS Assurance Digital team provides comprehensive support, including solution architecture, application development, testing, and maintenance for the global Assurance service line. We are looking for individuals who can bring a unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements:

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree (BE/BTech/MCA & MBA) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with substantial industry experience.
• 6 to 9 years of sound industry experience for BE/BTech/MCA graduates.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases such as HBase, Cassandra, or MongoDB.
• Strong knowledge of Big Data querying tools like Pig and Hive.
• Experience with ETL implementation using tools such as Alteryx or Azure Data Factory.
• Familiarity with NiFi is a plus.
• Mandatory experience in at least one reporting tool like Power BI, Tableau, or Spotfire.

Analytical and Decision-Making Skills:

• Ability to quickly grasp complex concepts and apply technology to data modeling, analysis, visualization, or process automation.
• Skill in selecting and applying appropriate standards, methods, tools, and applications.
• Capacity to work effectively both independently and within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Demonstrated analytical and systematic problem-solving approach.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in planning, scheduling, and monitoring work to meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Aptitude for rapidly acquiring and applying new technical information and business acumen.
• Strong customer focus, listening, negotiation, and problem-resolution skills within a team environment.

Additional Skills:

• Ability to maintain long-term client relationships and cultivate business development opportunities, expected of a Senior role.
