Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and evolve enterprise data platforms supporting major infrastructure, planning, environmental, and land projects in the UK. This role combines cloud technologies, database architecture, SQL expertise, and geospatial data management within a growing digital team.
Key Responsibilities:- Database Ownership & Architecture: Lead design, construction, and optimization of SQL Server databases; manage schema, indexing strategies, performance tuning, governance, security standards, and documentation.
- Data Engineering & Reporting: Build ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory; develop reporting solutions with Power BI, SSRS; create robust data models for analysts.
- Automation & Scripting: Utilize Python or similar languages for automation and advanced analytics tasks.
- Geospatial Domain Expertise: Manage spatial datasets in PostGIS/SQL Server Spatial components ensuring high-quality feeds into GIS applications and dashboards.
