About the Role

Forbes Advisor is looking for a talented Data Engineer to join our team in Chennai, India. This role is instrumental in developing and maintaining robust data pipelines and contributing to a data-centric approach across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that meet complex business and technical requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements, including automation of manual tasks, optimization of data delivery, and enhancement of transformation processes for scalability.
• Utilize Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from diverse data sources.
• Collaborate with Product, Data, and Design teams to address data-related technical challenges and support their data needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 1.5 years of experience working in globally distributed teams.
• Proficiency in Python and data handling frameworks such as Spark or Beam.
• Hands-on experience with GCP services for data pipelines, including Cloud Storage (GCS), BigQuery (BQ), and Cloud Composer.
• Experience writing and orchestrating data pipelines using Airflow.
• Experience handling data from third-party providers like Google Analytics and Google Ads is a significant advantage.
• Proven ability to manipulate, process, and extract value from large, disparate datasets.
• Familiarity with software engineering best practices in data engineering, such as release management and testing, utilizing tools like dbt and Great Expectations.
• Basic knowledge of dbt is preferred.
• Understanding of data privacy and security principles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
