Data Engineer - AI & Retail/CPG Focus

Accenture is seeking a talented Data Engineer for a role in Kolkata, West Bengal. This position focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining cutting-edge data solutions, particularly for AI-driven Retail and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) engineering initiatives.

You will be instrumental in creating robust data pipelines, ensuring high data quality, and implementing efficient ETL processes for seamless data migration and deployment across various systems. The role involves significant work with cloud platforms like Azure, GCP, Snowflake, and Databricks, with a strong emphasis on Large Language Model (LLM) integration, Agentic AI pipelines, and advanced Retail/CPG analytics.

As the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for AI architecture, LLM Operations (LLMOps), and enterprise-scale AI platforms, you will lead the design and delivery of production-grade AI systems that drive measurable impact in the Retail/CPG sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and delivery of AI-driven Retail/CPG engineering solutions across Azure, GCP, Snowflake, and Databricks.
• Focus on LLM integration, Agentic AI pipelines, and Retail/CPG analytics.
• Act as the primary SME for AI architecture, LLM Ops, and enterprise-scale AI platforms.
• Deliver production-grade AI systems in Retail/CPG with measurable impact.
• Lead AI data pipelines, LLM integrations, and agentic workflows on Azure, GCP, Snowflake, and Databricks.
• Design and implement RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) architectures using vector databases for retail and supply chain use cases.
• Build and operationalize Agentic AI systems for forecasting, inventory optimization, personalization, and promotions.
• Integrate enterprise LLMs (e.g., GPT 4, Claude, Gemini) via APIs, prompts, and tool-based frameworks.
• Own LLM Ops, including evaluation, versioning, cost optimization, and production governance.
• Mentor teams, drive architectural decisions, and ensure responsible AI, data quality, and compliance.

Required Skills:

• AI/ML Engineering, LLM Ops, Agentic AI
• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, and large-scale Retail/CPG data pipelines.
• Experience with LLM integration & prompt engineering (e.g., Azure OpenAI, GPT 4).
• Familiarity with Agentic frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, MCP).
• Experience with RAG pipelines and vector databases.
• Knowledge of Cloud AI platforms: Azure ML, Databricks MLflow, Snowflake Cortex.

Good to Have:

• Experience with streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, Azure Event Hubs).
• Understanding of Responsible AI, explainability, and regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of knowledge graphs or graph-based AI systems.

Experience & Education:

• Minimum 7.5+ years of overall professional experience.
• At least 3+ years of experience specifically in AI/ML or LLM-focused engineering.
• Proven track record of delivering production-grade AI systems in Retail/CPG with measurable impact.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or Machine Learning.
• 15 years of full-time education is required.
