Primetrace Technologies is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join their Aladdin Data team as a Vice President in Mumbai. This permanent, full-time role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in architecting and building scalable Big Data applications.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will possess a BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience, with at least 12 years of experience in data engineering within medium to large-scale solutions. A minimum of 2 years of experience leading a data engineering team is essential. You will be instrumental in designing and implementing robust data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architecting and building scalable Big Data applications.
• Driving cloud development initiatives on platforms like Azure, GCP, or AWS.
• Utilizing core development skills in Java, Python, SQL, and Linux.
• Applying expertise in Database Modeling and Normalization techniques.
• Leveraging object-oriented design patterns.
• Working with DevOps tools such as Git, Maven, Jenkins, GitLab CI, and Azure DevOps.
• Applying Agile development concepts and tools.
• Troubleshooting and resolving performance issues across codebases and database queries.
• Collaborating effectively through excellent written and verbal communication.
• Demonstrating a passion for learning and implementing new technologies in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

• BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 12+ years of data engineering experience in medium to large-scale solutions.
• 2+ years of experience leading a data engineering team.
• Proven experience architecting and building scalable Big Data applications.
• Cloud development experience (Azure, GCP, AWS).
• Development experience with Java, Python, SQL, and Linux is mandatory.
• Experience with Database Modeling and Normalization techniques.
• Familiarity with object-oriented design patterns.
• Experience with DevOps tools (Git, Maven, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Understanding of Agile development concepts.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with Perl or C++.
• Knowledge of Microservices and APIs.
• Experience supporting large-scale, complex analytics requirements.
• Prior experience in the Finance industry, such as Investment Banking or Capital Markets, is a significant advantage.
