Data Engineer

Uber is seeking a passionate and skilled Data Engineer with a proven track record in large-scale system implementations, including building and maintaining complex data pipelines. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and leading significant projects from conception to production. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional business and technology partners to define requirements and develop a clear data engineering roadmap. This position demands an excellent communicator, a strong team player, and a technically proficient engineer.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with engineering, product, and analytics teams across global technology sites to achieve OKRs and advance Uber's mission.
• Enhance data layers to support next-generation products aligned with Uber's strategic initiatives.
• Design and implement robust data pipelines for scheduling and orchestrating tasks such as data extraction, cleansing, transformation, enrichment, and loading according to business requirements.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years of overall technical software engineering experience in areas including:
• Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, SQL, Java, and Scala.
• Experience with big data frameworks (e.g., Spark, Flink, MapReduce, Presto), data modeling, and ETL development.
• Experience designing end-to-end data solutions and data architecture.
