Data Engineer II

Join McKinsey & Company's QuantumBlack as an IIoT / Industry 4.0 Analyst consultant in Gurugram, India. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving digital transformation for manufacturing clients by leveraging data and advanced technology. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess digital maturity, define target-state data and technology architectures, and develop roadmaps for scalable tech stacks.

Your impact will include designing and implementing enterprise technology architectures that seamlessly integrate Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) to support data-driven digital solutions. You will conduct thorough technology assessments, vendor profiling, and create enterprise architecture blueprints to guide client decision-making. Furthermore, you will partner with data science and engineering teams to understand requirements and architect scalable solutions for advanced analytics, AI, and GenAI use cases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage in digital transformation initiatives for manufacturing clients.
• Assess current digital maturity for analytics and digital use cases.
• Develop target-state data and technology architectures and roadmaps.
• Design and implement enterprise technology architectures integrating OT and IT.
• Conduct technology assessments, vendor profiling, and enterprise architecture blueprinting.
• Collaborate with data science and engineering teams on scalable architecture design for AI/ML and GenAI use cases.
• Foster innovation and excellence within a talented and diverse team.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, electronics/robotics, or industrial engineering.
• A strong understanding of Industrial IoT (IIoT), Industry 4.0, and smart manufacturing concepts.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in designing and implementing enterprise technology architectures across OT and IT systems.
• Knowledge of industrial automation systems (SCADA, PLCs, DCS, edge compute) and ISA-95 architecture.
• Exposure to data engineering, streaming analytics, and AI/ML applications in industrial settings.
• Familiarity with IIoT and cloud platforms such as PTC ThingWorx, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
