Data Engineer I, AP Analytics
Join Amazon's dynamic and fast-paced analytics team in Hyderabad/Secunderabad, Telangana, India, as a Data Engineer I. You will be instrumental in building and maintaining complex data pipelines, assembling large datasets to derive critical business insights, and enabling data-driven decision-making to support our rapidly growing business demands. This role offers a tremendous growth opportunity to collaborate with Business Analysts, Managers, Software Development Engineers, and fellow Data Engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and support analytical data platform solutions for data-driven decisions and insights.
- Design data schemas and manage internal data warehouses and SQL/NoSQL database systems.
- Contribute to various data model designs, architecture, implementation, discussions, and optimizations.
- Collaborate with other teams to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources using AWS big data technologies such as EMR, RedShift, and Elastic Search.
- Leverage AWS technologies including S3, RedShift, Lambda, and Glue, while exploring and adopting new AWS technologies for enhanced capabilities and efficiency.
- Work with data lake platforms and components like Hadoop and Amazon S3.
- Utilize SQL technologies on Hadoop, including Spark, Hive, and Impala.
- Continuously improve analysis processes, optimizing and simplifying self-service support for customers.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, a self-driven attitude, and the ability to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
- Embrace best practices in reporting and analysis, including data integrity, test design, validation, and documentation.
- Collaborate closely with talented peers to foster knowledge sharing and growth.
- Develop deep domain knowledge across various Amazon business areas.
- Own the development and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to drive key business decisions.
Basic Qualifications:
- 1+ year of data engineering experience.
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
- Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries for large-scale, complex datasets.
- Experience with at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, KornShell).
- Familiarity with big data processing technologies (e.g., Hadoop or Apache Spark), data warehouse technical architecture, infrastructure components, ETL, and reporting/analytic tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI, or Datastage.
- Proficiency in dbt, Airflow/MWAA, AWS Glue, or Kinesis.
