We are seeking a strong Data Engineer to contribute to designing, building, and running global services that support Windows, Xbox, and Azure. Our team develops and manages approximately 30 critical services using DevOps practices, handling billions of daily transactions. We are looking for a Data Engineer in our Hyderabad-based India team to enhance our data platform. We deliver integrated, intelligent, and secure services that enable all Microsoft engineering teams to efficiently ingest, protect, and distribute Microsoft products at scale. We are at the forefront of ensuring Microsoft's brand is trusted and secure, providing cross-industry malware scanning and regional digital manufacturing services. Our services are vital for products like Windows, Windows Server, Office, and SQL Server, impacting over 250 million licenses monthly. With nearly 5 billion transactions per month, we are committed to safeguarding customer privacy, ensuring product compliance, and efficiently distributing software globally. Responsibilities

• Develop clean, well-designed, simple, and maintainable code with a focus on quality.
• Prioritize the customer's perspective and experience in system design.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions from conception through deployment and live site reliability.
• Drive improvements through design reviews, code reviews, and test case reviews.
• Adapt to new technologies, tools, methods, and processes from Microsoft and the industry.
• Contribute to driving future state architecture changes for the group.
• Enhance service fundamentals, including capacity planning, performance, reliability, and monitoring.
• Role model Microsoft Values through behavior and actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• 1 to 3 years of solid development/testing experience with data services using various technologies.
• Understanding and hands-on experience with enterprise architectural patterns.
• Experience with Microsoft tools, Azure technology stack, and data technology stack.
• Proficiency in requirement/design/code review and inspection practices.
• Experience with performance testing, security testing, and privacy testing.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams with strong interpersonal skills.
• DevOps experience with a passion for live site reliability.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills with a solid understanding of testing practices.
• Excellent communication and cross-group collaboration skills.

Other Requirements:

Candidates must meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements. This includes passing the Microsoft background check and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
