About the Role

As a Data Engineer in the Global Research Modernization team, you will contribute with dynamic energy, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent multitasking abilities.

Job Responsibilities

• Build, deploy, and maintain business processes using Python.
• Collaborate with Research Analysts to understand their data requirements and translate these into effective data and information solutions.
• Leverage Python for data handling and manipulation, preparing and transforming complex datasets to derive meaningful insights and support data-driven decision-making for Research Analysts.
• Develop scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks, enhance efficiency, and streamline workflows.
• Research and analyze datasets utilizing a variety of analytical techniques in Python.
• Create, productionize, and store enhanced and original datasets to improve data analysis and discovery tools, modeling data for ease of storage, retrieval, and usability.
• Automate publication and analytics workflows for Research Analysts.
• Monitor and troubleshoot process performance and reliability issues promptly.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and develop policies for data access and governance.
• Ensure data quality and integrity through robust validation and testing processes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related data science/analytics field.
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience developing applications with Python.
• High proficiency in Python, including extensive experience with data handling and manipulation libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and data engineering principles, with practical experience in data and technology platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with web scraping libraries like BeautifulSoup and Selenium is advantageous.
• A detail-oriented approach with a highly disciplined commitment to processes and controls.
