Data Engineer

Join Amazon's Global Procurement Organization as a Data Engineer in Hyderabad, India, and play a key role in a brand-new initiative. You will build the foundational data facilities to empower our organization with deep insights into indirect supply management. Leveraging advanced data science for automation and decision-making is at the core of this role. We are looking for a customer-focused, relentless, and driven individual who can collaborate effectively with product managers, developers, and leaders. Success in this position requires broad skills in database design, comfort with large and complex datasets, expertise in data warehouse modeling and design, and the ability to build self-service data platforms. Your responsibilities will include building and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines, supporting existing data infrastructure with quality monitoring and alerting, implementing data models within Amazon Redshift/AWS Glue catalog, working with stakeholders to understand data requirements, contributing to data quality frameworks, participating in on-call rotations, and applying data engineering best practices. Basic qualifications include 1+ years of data engineering experience, familiarity with data modeling, warehousing, and ETL pipelines, proficiency in a query language (e.g., SQL, SparkSQL), and experience with a scripting language like Python. Preferred qualifications include experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, EMR), ETL tools (Informatica, SSIS), and knowledge of AWS Infrastructure.
