Are you passionate about handling vast datasets and leading scalable data engineering solutions using AWS technologies Do you aspire to create next-generation tools for intuitive data access The Amazon Finance Technology team is seeking a Data Engineer to shape the future of the Amazon finance data platform This role involves collaboration with stakeholders across North America, Asia, and Europe to build one of the world's largest finance data warehouses by volume This platform will support Amazon's rapidly growing businesses and power Business Intelligence (BI) applications that influence day-to-day decision-making.

You will be challenged to innovate using the latest big data techniques, developing a robust, scalable data model and optimizing data source consumption for accurate and timely reporting. You will share ownership of the technical vision and direction for advanced reporting and insight products, working alongside top-tier technical professionals on complex, large-scale systems with a focus on sustained operational excellence. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support a platform for secured access to large datasets.
• Collaborate with tax, finance, and accounting customers to gather requirements and deliver complete BI solutions.
• Partner with Finance Analysts to identify and promote best practices in reporting and analysis, including data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
• Model data and metadata to support both ad-hoc and pre-built reporting needs.
• Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to drive key business decisions.
• Optimize application and query performance using profiling tools and AWS services.
• Analyze and resolve problems at their root, understanding the broader business context.
• Gain a deep understanding of Amazon's diverse data resources and determine appropriate usage.
• Stay abreast of advancements in big data technologies and pilot new approaches to scale data architecture with increasing data volumes using AWS.
• Continuously enhance ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for datasets.
• Utilize quantitative analysis and business judgment to triage potential actions in a high-ambiguity environment.

Basic Qualifications

• 1+ years of data engineering experience.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
• Experience with at least one query language (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala).
• Experience with at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, KornShell).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, or EMR.
• Experience with ETL tools like Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI, or Datastage.
