Data Engineer

YOUR MISSION AT BACKLIGHT

As a Data Engineer at Backlight, a global media technology leader, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support our extensive data, analytics, and reporting needs. You will collaborate closely with analysts and business stakeholders to ensure the timely and reliable delivery of data, as well as the high performance of our data systems. We are seeking an ideal candidate with strong programming skills, hands-on experience with cloud platforms, and a solid understanding of data architecture principles.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement efficient, automated data pipelines for ETL processes.
• Build and maintain data warehousing solutions on Google Cloud Platform.
• Create and optimize dimensional data models for analytics and reporting using Google Dataform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and meet data requirements.
• Implement robust data quality controls and monitoring systems.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of data systems and processes.
• Support the deployment of machine learning models and data science initiatives.

What You Need To Embark

• 2-4 years of professional experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; OR 4-6 years of professional experience in data engineering.
• Strong familiarity with dimensional modeling using tools such as dbt and Dataform.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• A strong understanding of data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with ETL tools and frameworks like Alteryx, Fivetran, Segment, and others.

Work Arrangement

This is a remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within India. Please note that the working hours will be in the UK shift.
