Data Engineer

NTT DATA is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join their team in Delhi. This role is instrumental in transforming raw data into structured formats for insightful analysis, supporting query and reporting needs. The Data Engineer will develop reusable structured data sets, analyze data sources, and design/develop data models to meet business analytics requirements, including management, operational, predictive, and data science capabilities.

Key responsibilities include contributing to data model creation, designing and developing scalable ETL packages, transforming object and data models into database schemas, and producing database components according to project needs. The role involves interpreting installation standards, creating test scenarios, participating in thorough testing and validation, and supporting data migrations across various databases and applications like MS Dynamics, Oracle, SAP, and other ERP systems. Additional duties encompass defining and implementing data table structures and models, developing ETL and migration documentation, evaluating data requirements, and assisting with scoping and prioritization for change initiatives. Recommendations for improving automated and non-automated data components are also expected.

To excel in this role, candidates should possess knowledge of scoping requirements, database concepts, object and data modeling, and physical/logical data model design. Proficiency in Microsoft Azure Data Factory, SQL Analysis Server, SAP Data Services, and SAP BTP is required. A strong analytical mindset with business acumen, problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities are essential. The ability to build relationships across organizational levels and expertise in programming languages such as Perl, bash, Shell Scripting, and Python are crucial.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, with preferred certifications in SAP or Microsoft Azure. Relevant experience includes a moderate level in data engineering and data mining within fast-paced environments, building modern data analytics solutions for large, complex datasets, and architecting secure, highly available, and scalable systems. Familiarity with automation, scripting, big data tools (Hadoop, Cassandra, Storm), .NET programming, working with SAP, SQL, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL databases, and advanced MS Excel functions for data manipulation is also necessary.
