As a Data Engineer, you will be integral to building robust data pipelines and infrastructure that drive Amazon's organizational decisions. You'll work within the Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) team to design comprehensive data architectures, implement real-time processing systems, and ensure high-volume transaction handling with strict security and privacy compliance.
This role involves close collaboration across engineering, product management, and science teams to create impactful data products supporting Generative AI, Machine Learning, and NLP initiatives. You will participate in technical discussions regarding database design, scalability, and reliability while executing ETL/ELT pipeline development with a focus on quality testing and documentation.
In an agile environment, your day involves monitoring pipelines, troubleshooting infrastructure issues, optimizing data workflows, and implementing governance controls to support critical business capabilities. By mastering these responsibilities, you will directly enhance the organization's ability to leverage data for innovation and strategic decision-making.
