DATA ENGINEER Contractual

The Opportunity

We are seeking a hands-on Data Engineer to design and develop data modules for integration, transformation, and processing, ensuring minimal defects.

Key Activities

Project Delivery

• Contribute to the on-time and on-budget delivery of Symphony RetailAI solutions throughout the development lifecycle, including analysis, implementation, integration, testing, debugging, and support.
• Engage in all stages of the agile development process, including planning, stand-up, showcase, and retrospective sessions.
• Build clean, well-factored code adhering to agile principles, SOLID principles, test-driven development, and continuous integration.
• Facilitate the smooth delivery and completion of projects, support, or enhancements.
• Contribute to internal process and system improvements for maximum company efficiency.
• Support cross-team collaboration initiatives.

Architecture & Design

• Understand high-level and low-level design elements.
• Participate in requirement gathering with product owners/analysts and efficiently design and implement solutions.
• Be a self-starter, take ownership of products, and deliver them to perfection.
• Communicate effectively within the team, consistently learn, and contribute to the overall architecture.
• Define best practices documents for each technology solution.

Your Profile

Profile

• 5-8 years of experience.
• Strong experience working on large data platforms, data warehouses, big data, and multi-tier data environments.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake.
• Proficient SQL skills with hands-on experience in Procedures, Functions, Query Tuning/Optimization, Data Distribution, Partitioning, and Indexing.
• Hands-on experience developing modules using Python or Spark.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Cloud/Azure platforms is advantageous.
• Experience working in an Agile environment is preferred.
• Experience using code management and project management tools like Azure DevOps and automated pipelines for code deployment.
• Strong individual contributor with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
