Data Engineer

Ramboll Tech is seeking a passionate Data Engineer to join their Data Platform team in Chennai, India. This role is crucial in developing robust and scalable data pipelines to enhance data visibility, shareability, and usability across the organization, ensuring high-quality, governed, and efficient data solutions.

As a Data Engineer, you will design, develop, and operate high-quality data flows on Azure to support AI products and business initiatives. You will be responsible for improving and optimizing existing data solutions, focusing on automation, performance, and cost-efficiency. Key responsibilities include collaborating with Data Architects on data modeling and best practices, working with Machine Learning teams to provide structured data, ensuring data governance, security, and compliance, and troubleshooting/monitoring data infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with proficiency in Azure Data Services (Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake Storage), strong SQL skills, and experience processing various file formats (JSON, XML, CSV). Familiarity with REST-based APIs, data processing, automation, data modeling, DevOps practices (CI/CD, IaC, Git), and Databricks is also required. Excellent collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential. Fluency in English is required, and proficiency in the local language is a plus.
