Data Engineer

Ramboll is seeking a skilled and experienced Business Intelligence Developer to join our Data & Analytics team in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This role requires a strong background in building dashboards for HR and Client & Sales domains, with extensive hands-on experience in Data Warehousing and Power BI. You will be instrumental in developing data solutions, transforming and integrating data, and delivering actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Designing, developing, and implementing complex T-SQL queries and Stored Procedures for data extraction and manipulation.
• Applying Data Warehousing concepts for the design, implementation, and maintenance of data warehouses.
• Creating and optimizing data models for efficient reporting and analysis.
• Developing and maintaining ETL processes using SSIS and Azure Data Factory for data integration.
• Designing, developing, and deploying Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
• Optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL pipelines for performance.
• Ensuring data quality and accuracy across all BI outputs.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable insights.
• Documenting BI processes, scripts, and data models.
• Staying updated on emerging BI trends and technologies to enhance solutions and workflows.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong SQL skills, including complex queries and Stored Procedures.
• Expertise in Data Warehousing, Data Modeling, and designing scalable data structures.
• Proficiency in SSIS and Azure Data Factory for ETL and data integration.
• Extensive experience with Power BI, including complex DAX coding.
• Skilled in query optimization and performance tuning.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Good to have:

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and cloud platforms like Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, or Azure SQL Data Warehouse.
• Exposure to version control systems such as Git and Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of scripting languages like Python or PowerShell.
