Data Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a Data Engineer based in Bangalore, India, to join our growing platform engineering team at MerQube. You will play a pivotal role in designing scalable data platforms that drive the company's index computation ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines for large-scale structured and unstructured financial data.
• Develop workflows supporting complex index computation, analytics, and research needs.
• Collaborate with backend engineers, quant researchers, and platform teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Ensure strict adherence to data quality standards, lineage tracking, and validation frameworks.
• Optimize infrastructure for performance resilience and cost efficiency on cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.
• Manage relational databases, data lakes, and warehouse environments using SQL expertise.
• Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, alerting systems, and participate in production support/on-call rotations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience with Python/Java/Scala proficiency.
• Demonstrated expertise in SQL, data modeling, and lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with orchestration tools like Airflow and containerization technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
