Data Engineer

Position Summary
ConvergeSPORTS (USI) seeks a Data Engineer to build production-grade foundations for our products using Deloitte's sports industry expertise and proprietary AI-native decision intelligence. You will work with experienced engineers on real product infrastructure, helping sports organizations grow revenue, deepen fan engagement, optimize partnerships, and improve commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain batch data pipelines using SQL, Python, and PySpark to ingest, transform, and serve datasets related to fans, sponsorships, ticketing, CRM, and commerce.
- Develop reusable ETL/ELT frameworks under senior guidance, adhering to established design patterns.
- Write, test, and tune high-performance code with comprehensive unit tests and documentation.
- Implement data quality checks, validation routines, and lineage documentation to ensure trustworthiness of assets.
- Partner with product managers and scientists to translate requirements into production-ready features.
- Support deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, CI/CD integration, and observability in production environments.

Qualifications
Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent; 2-4 years of experience building data pipelines; proficiency in SQL and Python; experience with cloud platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, PostgreSQL); expertise in Spark/PySpark and orchestration tools like Airflow or dbt.

Preferred: Experience in sports/media/fan engagement domains; skills in Docker, CI/CD on AWS/Azure/GCP; background preparing data for AI use cases.
