Job Summary: The Data and Analytics Director will spearhead Albemarle's Data and Analytics department, defining its strategic direction and overseeing the development and implementation of data-driven solutions. This visionary leadership role requires extensive experience in data management, analytics, and team leadership. The Director will partner with departments to ensure data integrity, optimize data utilization, and generate critical business insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of data professionals including data scientists, data engineers, and analysts.
- Develop and execute a data and analytics strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Oversee the architecture, development, and maintenance of data infrastructure and analytics platforms.
- Champion data quality, governance, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- Drive the adoption of advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI technologies.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain a leading edge in data innovation.
- Manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships for data and analytics initiatives.
- Present findings and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related discipline.
- Proven track record in a senior data and analytics leadership role with successful project delivery.
- Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities.
- Expertise in data management, data warehousing, and data governance.
- Proficiency in analytical tools and programming languages such as SQL, Python, R.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights into business strategies.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms and big data technologies (Azure, DataBricks preferred).
Preferred Skills:
- Industry-specific experience (e.g., chemicals, manufacturing).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Analytics Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate).
