About this role
Gartner seeks a Data Analyst to interpret and analyze complex datasets, delivering actionable insights to support data-driven decision-making for product development in data domains and driving key business initiatives. This role will specifically support our Master Data Management Scrum team, focusing on data product design, solution assessment, and execution support for projects of varying scales.
What you'll do
- Act as a key liaison between data engineers, data stewards, product owners, and other IT teams to ensure smooth data integration and effective data product implementation across the organization.
- Interpret analytical results using diverse techniques, from simple data aggregation to sophisticated statistical analysis, and produce accurate, timely impact analyses.
- Employ statistical methods and techniques to identify patterns, trends, correlations, and anomalies, extracting meaningful insights to inform product requirements.
- Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and develop metrics to effectively track and measure product performance.
- Identify, communicate, and assist in resolving data gaps that hinder the delivery of data products.
- Acquire in-depth domain knowledge of relevant business areas, data acquisition principles and sources, technical capabilities and limitations, and communicate associated risks to support data product delivery.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to create essential business deliverables, including Technical Requirements, Functional Requirements, User Stories, and User Acceptance Test plans.
- Evaluate proposed solutions to ensure their alignment with business needs and functional requirements.
- Support the creation of test plans (Functional testing) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate that delivered solutions meet business expectations.
- Maintain high quality standards by adhering to and supporting established processes and procedures, including the upkeep of documentation on shared file systems.
- Provide guidance and support to other business/data analysts, business process owners, and project managers to facilitate the successful execution of business initiatives.
What you'll need
- 2-4 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst within an Analytics environment.
- Advanced SQL skills and a strong understanding of data analysis tools and techniques are essential; Python skills are a plus.
- Expertise in statistical analysis techniques and concepts.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities to interpret complex datasets and generate valuable insights.
- Exceptional communication skills to effectively convey intricate data findings to both technical and business stakeholders.
- Experience working within Scrum/Agile methodologies.
- Proficiency with tools such as MS Excel, MS Word, Google Suite, MS Visio, Lucid Chart, JIRA, and Confluence.
