Data Analyst - Quant/Qual Problem Solving, SQL, Excel, Databricks at Gartner (Gurgaon/Gurugram, India)

About the Role:

Join Gartner's Insights and Product Analytics (IPA) team, a dynamic group responsible for analyzing the business performance of all research products and delving into various facets of Gartner's Business and Technology Insights (BTI) unit. This role focuses on understanding client value drivers, including research content, client interactions, and insights delivered through conferences and events. The IPA team also supports the BTI organization by conducting analyses related to client retention, associate performance, budget and financial forecasting (in collaboration with the finance department), and client demand sensing. We empower fact-based decision-making by delivering data, insights, and analytic tools to continually enhance our business operations and strategy.

We are actively seeking a Data Analyst with a strong aptitude for analytical problem-solving to become a valuable member of our expanding team. This individual will tackle a broad spectrum of challenges, including content analytics, interaction and events analytics, demand sensing, staffing models, cost reporting, automation initiatives, expert performance analysis, standard reporting, and ad-hoc analytical requests. You will collaborate closely with IPA leadership to define problems, identify data sources, conduct thorough analyses, and effectively communicate findings. High-performing individuals will have opportunities to develop their skills to independently manage project workstreams and engage with key stakeholders. Projects will involve a blend of team-based and independent problem-solving, alongside automation efforts and cross-functional collaboration with the Information Technology team.

What You'll Do:

  • Partner with colleagues to perform analyses that yield actionable insights for the BTI organization, ensuring effective communication of findings to drive adoption and implementation. Develop dashboards and reporting solutions.
  • Take ownership of projects, contributing to their successful rollout by adhering to defined plans, success criteria, and metrics.
  • Cultivate deep domain expertise in Gartner's data, analytic tools, reports, and data infrastructure. Lead problem-solving efforts, conduct root cause analysis, devise testing methodologies for validation, and articulate data sources to senior audiences.
  • Champion continuous improvement by supporting initiatives for both IPA deliverables (e.g., exploring new data sources, analytical insights, tools) and operational process enhancements (e.g., refining IPA processes and communications).
  • Collaborate with the Information Technology team and data scientists to ensure the quality, integrity, and consistency of data.

What You'll Need:

  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in analyzing large datasets, with strong hands-on proficiency in analytical tools. Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze, restructure, and articulate insights from both qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, or Economics.
  • Problem Solving: Exceptional ability to solve complex problems, think creatively, and leverage data to communicate compelling narratives.
  • Leadership: Proven capacity to engage teams and key stakeholders effectively.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Solid experience with SQL, Python/R, and Databricks. Foundational knowledge of Data Science principles.
  • Collaboration: Strong collaboration and influencing skills.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to work independently.
  • Location: This role operates within Gartner's hybrid, flexible work model, allowing for remote work with opportunities for on-site collaboration at our Gurgaon Centers of Excellence office. Candidates must reside within reasonable proximity to Gurgaon.

What You Will Get:

  • Competitive salary, generous paid time off, charity match program, Group Medical Insurance, Parental Leave, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and more.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented culture that embraces diversity.
  • Opportunities for professional development and unlimited growth.
