hackajob is partnering with Barclays to recruit an exceptional Data Analyst for their Pune, India operations. This role is integral to supporting the successful delivery of Location Strategy projects, ensuring they meet planned budgets, quality standards, and governance requirements. You will be instrumental in evolving Barclays' digital landscape, driving innovation, and leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements for a Data Analyst:
- Demonstrate hands-on experience in data analysis or a data-focused Tech BA role, adept at working with complex technical and business stakeholder matrices across multiple geographies to develop process flows and detailed technical requirements.
- Conduct technical analysis for data migration projects, including database and table-level details, reconciliation, and SAS process migrations. Maintain essential documentation such as Data Dictionaries, Metadata, Data Lineage, Mapping documentation, API Catalogues, and interface inventories for OLAP and OLTP capabilities.
- Possess strong SQL query writing skills for requirements of small to medium complexity. Utilize SAS software extensively for ad-hoc analysis and BAU reporting, with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience.
- Showcase exposure to Python programming for data analysis, automation, and scripting, with experience in extracting, cleaning, analyzing, and presenting data from large datasets.
- Understand and implement Technology Application Delivery and Data Management control frameworks. Familiarity with Apache Spark, Databricks, and AWS cloud services is essential.
- Proficiency in using Tableau or other data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Qlik) to create interactive dashboards and reports.
Highly Valued Skills:
- Practical experience with agile methodologies, including defining business outcomes and creating portfolio epics and user stories. SAS Certified Base and/or Advanced Programmer certifications are a plus.
- Hands-on experience in data streaming, ETL, data quality, data reconciliation, data processing, and data warehousing, preferably on AWS.
- Experience with batch and real-time warehousing. Advanced Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, and Seaborn for data manipulation and visualization.
- Experience with PySpark for distributed data processing and big data analytics.
- AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Data Engineering). Advanced Tableau/Power BI skills, including calculated fields, parameters, and dashboard optimization.
- Exposure to the banking and financial services sector, particularly in fraud detection. Experience working in large matrix organizations and a proven track record of success with senior stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and to structure abstract situations. Flexibility to align with US, UK, and India time zones when necessary.
- A strong drive for results, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, multitask, and execute flawlessly at speed.

Purpose of the Role:
To enable data-driven strategic and operational decision-making by extracting actionable insights from large datasets, performing statistical and advanced analytics to identify trends and patterns, and presenting findings through clear visualizations and reports.
Accountabilities:
- Investigate and analyze data issues related to quality, lineage, controls, and authoritative source identification. Document data sources, methodologies, and quality findings with recommendations for improvement.
- Design and build data pipelines to automate data movement and processing.
- Apply advanced analytical techniques to large datasets to uncover trends and correlations, develop validated logical data models, and translate insights into actionable business recommendations that drive operational and process improvements, leveraging machine learning/AI.
- Translate analytical findings into actionable business recommendations, identifying opportunities for operational and process improvements.
- Design and create interactive dashboards and visual reports using applicable tools, and automate reporting processes for regular and ad-hoc stakeholder needs.
