Data Analyst

About the Role:

Join a large and expanding Translations operation with over 300 professionals across more than 5 locations. We utilize state-of-the-art translation processes and tools to meet the needs of internal customers across S&P Global Market Intelligence and the wider company. This role offers significant exposure to diverse data collection processes that rely on translation services within S&P Global.

You will collaborate with multicultural teams located in Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Manila, Penang, and Buenos Aires, working towards shared objectives. Gain valuable insights into our clients and C-level executives at companies whose data we cover, collect, and present.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translate and localize high-level documents from source languages (specifically Hebrew to English and vice-versa) while maintaining the original style and tone.
• Conduct primary and secondary research to gather relevant financial information.
• Address queries from internal and external clients accurately, comprehensively, and in a timely manner.
• Perform quality assurance on translated and localized content.
• Develop and maintain language glossaries, dictionaries, and translation memories, and draft language-specific style guides as required.
• Meet predefined individual and team targets for quality and excellence.
• Stay updated on the latest translation and research guidelines and policies.
• Report daily work activities in designated tools and address any quality feedback promptly.
• Participate in assigned projects focused on expanding market information and data coverage.
• Test new tools and applications to improve team productivity and efficiency.
• Initiate and manage process improvement and automation projects.
• Escalate concerns appropriately and in a timely manner, and manage communications with colleagues and management.
• Collaborate with other data teams and stakeholders to support team expansion and transformation initiatives.

Candidate Profile:

Basic Qualifications:

• Native or proficient command of Italian and English. Proficiency in other languages is a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a translator.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Italian. Familiarity with Italian financial markets is advantageous.
• Solid understanding of accounting and financial subject matter, concepts, and terminology. Knowledge of financial statements (IS, BS, CF, etc.), key ratios, and other market-related data is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills for thorough, objective research with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficient in internet research and desktop applications like Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook).
• Ability to interact professionally with various levels of stakeholders and handle issues maturely.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Exceptional time management skills, including prioritization, multitasking, and adherence to deadlines and service level agreements.
• An inquisitive and investigative mindset, coupled with proactivity, motivation, and a positive attitude.
• Comfortable learning and adapting to modern technologies, processes, and tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Language proficiency certification is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience in translation and localization projects, particularly within the financial industry.
• Experience with Lean principles, automation, and machine translation.
• Knowledge of SQL, Python, and VBA Macro is beneficial.
