The Team

S&P Global is a leading provider of ESG data for investors, corporates, and other stakeholders. We generate value for our clients by offering deep insights into ESG performance. This role is part of a team focused on collecting, standardizing, and validating ESG data from a wide array of company and governmental sources. We provide users with a detailed, multi-faceted view of a company's resilience to ESG-related changes, working closely with various critical stakeholders to understand and build our content sets. The data we manage is instrumental for investors, asset managers, and S&P Global's internal divisions and products. Our team manages S&P Global's proprietary database, which contains one of the world's most complete datasets on corporate sustainability.

Responsibilities & Impact

• Process financial and ESG qualitative and quantitative data, accurately applying it to the database according to CSA guidance.
• Collect, standardize, and validate data from various documents.
• Develop a strong understanding of ESG concepts, research methodologies, and current trends.
• Achieve pre-defined individual and team targets, ensuring quality and efficiency in delivering outcomes.
• Collaborate with ESG analysts to understand challenges and propose solutions.
• Stay updated on content sets and build industry knowledge by understanding industry trends and reporting standards.
• Contribute input and ideas for new data collection methods and product improvements related to covered content sets.
• Troubleshoot problems and provide support to the team.

As a member of S&P's ESG team, you will contribute to developing and maintaining accurate, complete, and timely datasets, considering the global interests and needs of our business divisions, both internally and externally.

As a Researcher, you will support the integrity and comprehensiveness of our dataset by utilizing internal and external public research sources. These include government and regulatory documents, stock exchanges, CSR Reports, industry journals, analyst reports, information databases, and our internal research tools, to collect, summarize, and synthesize meaningful information.

What We're Looking For

Basic Qualifications & Skills Required:

• Academic Qualifications: Bachelor's/Master's degree or equivalent; an advanced degree in a related field is welcome.
• Prior experience in ESG data ratings and research is mandatory.
• Minimum of 2 years of work experience in the field of ESG or corporate sustainability is mandatory.
• Proficiency in using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to interpret documents such as Articles, Bylaws, Prospectus of Companies, Annual reports, Sustainability reports, and Codes of Conduct.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts. Ability to multitask and work in a team environment, while adhering to a flexible schedule to meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and a persistent approach to work.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Good written and oral presentation skills.
• Comfort in taking initiative and demonstrating resourcefulness.
• Agile mindset, given the high level of collaboration and coordination required.
