Data Analyst

About the Role

Varaha is seeking a Data Analyst to be the primary owner of data quality and visualization across our key project verticals. You will collaborate closely with the Product Manager and Engineering team to translate business logic into robust data tracking systems. This is a highly collaborative position requiring interaction with Leadership and Operations teams to foster transparency and drive data-informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Dashboarding & Traceability: Develop strategic dashboards for end-to-end traceability, providing granular visibility into project status and inventory movement for the Operations team. Translate operational questions into actionable data visualizations to identify bottlenecks and opportunities.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Leadership, Operations, and field stakeholders to gather requirements and understand the on-ground supply chain realities.
• Product & Engineering Collaboration: Support the Product Manager in defining success metrics (KPIs) for new features and validating product hypotheses with data. Collaborate with Backend Engineers to ensure data tracking accuracy amidst database schema and API changes.
• Advanced Data Analysis: Utilize advanced SQL and Python (Pandas/NumPy) for querying, cleaning, and modeling large datasets. Leverage AI tools and automation scripts to accelerate data processing and synthesize complex information.
• Data Quality & Integrity: Act as the custodian of data quality, implementing automated validation checks to identify anomalies. Ensure a single source of truth is maintained across all reporting channels.

Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of full-time experience in Data Analysis or Business Intelligence.
• Technical Expertise: Expert-level SQL (Complex joins, CTEs, Window Functions), strong Python proficiency for data manipulation (Pandas), and proven experience creating professional-grade dashboards (PowerBI, Tableau, Looker, etc.).
• Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated ability to work with non-technical teams (Ops/Leadership) and translate their needs into technical requirements.
• Data Intuition: Deep understanding of data modeling and relational database structures.
• AI Literacy: Familiarity with integrating AI tools into data workflows.

Bonus Points

• Experience with supply chain, traceability, or sustainability project data.
• Prior experience in an Agile/Product team structure.
