About the Role

The Insights and Product Analytics (IPA) team at Gartner is seeking a passionate Data Analyst to join their growing team in Gurgaon/Gurugram, India. This role is central to understanding and improving the business performance of all research products within Gartner's Business and Technology Insights (BTI) unit. You will analyze key client value drivers, including research content, client interactions, and insights from conferences and events. The IPA team also supports the BTI organization through advanced analytics in areas such as client retention, associate performance, budget and financial analysis (in collaboration with the finance department), and client demand sensing. Your work will empower fact-based decision-making by delivering data, insights, and analytic tools to enhance Gartner's operational and strategic business operations.

As a Data Analyst, you will tackle a diverse range of analytical challenges, including content, interaction, and event analytics; demand sensing; staffing models; cost reporting; automation; expert performance analytics; standard reporting; and ad-hoc analytics. You will collaborate closely with IPA leadership to define problems, identify data sources, conduct thorough analysis, and effectively communicate your findings. High-potential individuals will have the opportunity to independently manage project workstreams and engage with key stakeholders. Your projects will involve a blend of team-based and individual problem-solving, with a strong emphasis on automation and collaboration with the Information Technology team.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with colleagues to perform analyses that yield actionable insights for the BTI organization, communicating findings effectively to drive adoption and implementation. Develop dashboards and reporting solutions.
  • Take ownership of key projects, adhering to rollout plans, success criteria, and metrics.
  • Develop deep domain expertise in Gartner's data, analytic tools, reports, and data infrastructure. Be responsible for problem-solving, root cause analysis, devising validation testing methodologies, and clearly articulating data sources to senior stakeholders.
  • Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives for IPA deliverables, including the integration of new data sources and analytic insights, as well as operational process enhancements.
  • Collaborate with the Information Technology team and data scientists to ensure the quality, integrity, and consistency of data.

What You'll Need

  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in analyzing large datasets, with hands-on proficiency in analytical tools. Proven ability to gather, analyze, restructure, and articulate insights from both qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, or Economics.
  • Problem Solving: Exceptional ability to solve complex problems creatively and use data to communicate compelling narratives.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated capability to engage teams and key stakeholders effectively.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with SQL, Python/R, Databricks, and foundational Data Science concepts.
  • Collaboration: Strong collaboration and influencing skills.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Location: This role is based in Gurgaon/Gurugram, India. Gartner offers a hybrid, flexible work environment. Candidates must reside within reasonable proximity to our Gurgaon Centers of Excellence office.

What You Will Get

  • Competitive salary, generous paid time off, charity matching program, Group Medical Insurance, Parental Leave, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and more.
  • A collaborative and inclusive team-oriented culture that embraces diversity.
  • Abundant opportunities for professional development and unlimited career growth.
