The Data Analysts team at S&P Global Market Intelligence is instrumental in creating high-quality content that empowers clients to make informed decisions. Working with diverse data groups including Event, Private data, Fundamentals, Transactions (M&A and Capital Market Data), and Estimated & Market data, analysts delve into research reports and company documents. They collect, synthesize, and generate meaningful consensus from this information, complemented by real-time monitoring of global industry trade publications and news aggregators.
This role offers significant learning opportunities, focusing on building essential professional skills. It serves as an excellent stepping stone to understanding global market dynamism, providing a comprehensive market overview and insight into various industry facets. As proficiency in datasets and workflows is gained, opportunities arise to mentor new talent, enhance skillsets, and contribute to process improvement projects, including LEAN and automation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Collate, analyze, extract, and enter high-quality financial and non-financial data into work tools according to guideline specifications for assigned verticals.
- Develop a thorough understanding of dataset workings, workflows, and proficient knowledge of work tools.
- Contribute input and ideas for new data collection methods and product enhancements related to the dataset.
- Meet predefined individual and team targets, delivering outcomes with quality and excellence.
- Cultivate technical expertise within the department.
- Troubleshoot problems and issues, supporting the team in enhancing departmental workflows and processes.
- Review feedback related to transactions content to correct errors and refine procedures and processes for improved accuracy.
What We're Looking For
- Entry-Level Talent: Post-Graduate/MBA in Finance with a strong academic record (Graduating 2024/2025).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Solid understanding of corporate finance and accountancy, including financial statements and annual reports.
- Proficiency with secondary research sources.
- Availability: Willingness to work in a 24x5 environment with rotational shifts, including night shifts.
- Certification or experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and interpretive skills.
- Ability to conduct efficient thematic online research.
