Data Analyst

Greenlight is seeking a Data Analyst to join our Data Platform Analytics team in Bengaluru, Karnataka. This role will collaborate with product and business stakeholders across risk, operations, and other domains, tackling complex analytical challenges with initiative, problem-solving skills, and a curious mindset to deliver accurate and actionable insights. You will be instrumental in building scalable reporting and analytics foundations by integrating data from various sources, clarifying and standardizing metrics, and supporting informed business decisions across core product areas.

Responsibilities include data modeling, ad-hoc reporting, dashboard creation, root-cause analysis, and developing data narratives.

Reporting to the Director of Analytics and Analytics Engineering, your key responsibilities will include:

• Analyzing internal consumer and product data to accelerate decision-making and improve key business metrics, explaining the 'what' and 'why' behind data findings.
• Monitoring existing reports, models, and datasets for accuracy, usage, and consistency as business needs evolve.
• Connecting seemingly unrelated data points, thinking creatively, and navigating ambiguity to find precise answers.
• Translating complex results and messy questions into clear insights, recommendations, and actionable next steps.
• Owning analytics models in dbt, building and maintaining scalable, reusable models that encapsulate business logic for powering dashboards, reporting, and enabling stakeholder self-service.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams in the US and India to create and communicate actionable, data-driven insights, bridging the gap between data and business objectives.
• Developing and maintaining dashboards and BI solutions using tools such as Tableau and Snowflake.
• Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation, including updates on report changes, and facilitating training for new tools.

We are looking for candidates with:

• Over 4 years of data analytics experience with strong analytical instincts and the ability to extract insights from extensive datasets.
• Proficiency in SQL for extracting data from multiple sources for analysis and visualization.
• Excellent data visualization skills, particularly with Tableau, and a strong understanding of dashboarding best practices.
• Experience working cross-functionally, bringing together diverse disciplines, and balancing competing priorities.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, from engineers to executives.
• An ownership mentality, becoming the subject matter expert for data within your product area and understanding its business implications.
• A proactive approach to work, driving initiatives independently, asking insightful questions, and structuring ambiguous problems.

Desired skills and experience include:

• Experience with dbt, including ownership of analytics models.
• Familiarity with data modeling concepts such as dimensional modeling, curated datasets, and semantic layers.
• Proficiency in Python for statistical analysis and automation.
