Job Summary
This role focuses on cross-functional collaboration to gather data and build models for trend analysis using various data sources. Responsibilities include retrieving, analyzing, and summarizing business, operational, employee, customer, and economic data to develop business intelligence, optimize effectiveness, predict outcomes, and inform strategic decision-making. Key activities involve measuring the impact of new products/features, optimizing processes through A/B testing, segmenting customers for tailored strategies, performing deep dives into business trends, analyzing customer sentiment via Natural Language Processing (NLP) on survey feedback, and developing upsell strategies that balance business priorities with customer behavior. This position operates with moderate guidance within its area of expertise.
Core Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to understand data and analysis requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
- Evaluate data relevance and identify alternative sources to fulfill analytical requests from business stakeholders.
- Analyze large, complex datasets to derive actionable business insights using self-service analytics and reporting tools.
- Query diverse big data platforms including Teradata, SQL Server, Hadoop, and AWS.
- Integrate data from disparate sources as needed to conduct comprehensive analyses.
- Identify key business drivers and insights through exploratory data analysis and hypothesis testing.
- Develop forecasting models for sales, demand, and other critical business metrics.
- Analyze the effectiveness of campaigns, offers, and initiatives, identifying areas for improvement.
- Communicate findings clearly and concisely to company executives and decision-makers through narrative-driven presentations and effective data visualizations.
- Champion a culture of analytical excellence, data-driven discussions, healthy skepticism, intellectual curiosity, knowledge sharing, and teamwork.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in analytics, statistics, and machine learning, applying them to solve business challenges.
