Data & AI Engineering Specialist

Sanofi is seeking a dynamic Data & AI Engineering Specialist to join our team in Hyderabad, Telangana. This role is crucial for designing and developing globally scalable solutions to support Sanofi's advanced analytics, AI, and ML initiatives, ultimately improving outcomes for patients and customers.

As a Data & AI Engineering Specialist, you will be instrumental in making key datasets accessible to data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders across the enterprise. You will identify opportunities for improvement while ensuring strict adherence to data quality, security, and governance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Propose and implement technical designs that fulfill business and technical requirements.
• Develop and maintain data engineering solutions according to specifications using appropriate tools and technologies.
• Create and optimize ETL/data pipelines for performance.
• Test and validate developed solutions to ensure they meet all requirements.
• Mentor other members of the data engineering team on workflows, technical subjects, and pipeline management.
• Produce design and development documentation adhering to standards for knowledge transfer, training, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with business and product teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Promote and uphold best practices and standards for code management, automated testing, and deployments.
• Leverage existing or develop new standard data pipelines within Sanofi to drive value through business use cases.
• Develop automated tests for CI/CD pipelines.
• Gather, organize, and analyze large and complex data assets.
• Conduct peer reviews to ensure the quality, consistency, and rigor of production-level solutions.
• Actively contribute to the Data Engineering community, defining leading practices and frameworks.
• Clearly and concisely communicate results and findings to stakeholders.
• Stay current with company standards, industry best practices, and emerging technologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, integration, data warehousing, business intelligence, business analytics, or a comparable role, utilizing relevant technologies such as Airflow, Snowflake, and dbt.
• Understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python and Shell scripting.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (Snowflake experience is a plus).
• Experience with job scheduling and orchestration tools (Airflow experience is a plus).
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational database technologies/concepts.
• Experience working with data models and query tuning.

Nice to Haves:

• Experience in the life sciences or pharmaceutical industry.
• Familiarity with data ingestion in batch, near real-time, and streaming environments.
• Familiarity with data warehouse concepts and architectures (data mesh familiarity is a plus).
• Familiarity with Source Code Management Tools (GitHub experience is a plus).
