Fortinet is seeking a skilled Cyber Threat Researcher to join our team in Pune, India. This role requires expertise in Darknet, HUMINT, and Python automation. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-learner, capable of working independently with minimal supervision, and adaptable to new technologies and programming languages.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor the online cybercrime underground, including Clearnet and Darknet, to track cybercriminal activities.
Identify and evaluate new data sources relevant to cybercrime trends.
Author insightful research reports and customer-facing deliverables.
Engage with threat actors and automate routine tasks to enhance efficiency.
Utilize advanced Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) techniques across the surface, deep, and dark web to detect malicious activities targeting Fortinet customers and related organizations.
Provide support for customer queries, potentially during off-hours.

Desired Technical Skills

Proficient programming skills, with a preference for Python.
Extensive experience in automation.
Strong understanding of computer and networking fundamentals.
Familiarity with the DarkNet, Deep Web, and other sources of cybercriminal intelligence.
In-depth knowledge of various security technologies.
Candidates with a strong community presence and notable publications (papers, exploits, vulnerabilities) will be highly regarded.
Knowledge of cyber threats, malware, Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs), and exploits.
Active participation in online forums, IRC, Jabber, Discord, and Telegram.
Experience in vulnerability assessment and penetration testing is a plus.
Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CEH or OSCP are beneficial but not mandatory.
