About the Role: Internmo is offering a structured remote internship for freshers who want to begin a career in cybersecurity and information security. The program provides practical exposure to security monitoring, vulnerability assessment, risk identification, security best practices, and basic incident response while working with commonly used cybersecurity tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in identifying and analyzing common cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and risks relevant to the Indian tech ecosystem.
• Support vulnerability assessment and basic security testing of systems, applications, and networks.
• Monitor security events, logs, and alerts to identify suspicious or malicious activity.
• Assist with security audits, risk assessments, and documentation of findings.
• Learn and apply security best practices for systems, networks, and data.
• Analyze security incidents and document investigation findings under guidance.
• Support basic penetration testing and vulnerability scanning using tools like Wireshark, Nmap, Burp Suite, Nessus, or SIEM platforms.
• Maintain clear documentation of security policies, procedures, checklists, and remediation recommendations.
• Research emerging cybersecurity threats and attack techniques recommended for global standards.

Requirements:

• Suitable for freshers with an interest in ethical hacking, network security, or related areas based on India’s IT demands.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, threats, vulnerabilities, and controls.
• Familiarity with networking basics: TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, ports, firewalls (common in Indian curriculum).
• Better knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems is beneficial for remote setups.
• Understanding of vulnerability/risk assessment concepts.
• Familiarity with tools such as Wireshark, Nmap, Burp Suite, Nessus, or SIEM platforms.
• Knowledge of authentication, access control, encryption, and security best practices.
• Better knowledge of scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell helps in automating tasks.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
• Good written/verbal communication skills for remote collaboration across time zones.
