Custom Software Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a forward-thinking Custom Software Engineer with an AI-first mindset to design, develop, and deploy intelligent frameworks leveraging Generative AI (GenAI) and Agentic AI frameworks within SAP platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of various Business Functions, a passion for innovation in AI, and rich experience in delivering enterprise-grade technology solutions using GenAI/Agentic AI Frameworks. This role requires the ability to conceptualize and implement AI-driven enhancements to traditional SAP processes, driving the next generation of enterprise automation and intelligence.

As an Application Developer, you will design, build, and configure applications to meet business process and application requirements. A typical day involves collaborating with various teams to understand their needs, developing innovative solutions, and ensuring that applications are aligned with business objectives. You will engage in problem-solving activities, participate in meetings to discuss project progress, and contribute to the overall success of the application development process. Your role will also include testing and refining applications to enhance functionality and user experience, ensuring that the final product meets the highest standards of quality and performance.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Expected to be a Subject Matter Expert with deep knowledge and experience.
• While the business situation/problem is given, you will have responsibility to visualize innovative solutions leveraging GenAI & Agentic architecture and the best of available technologies from SAP and other providers.
• Engage in end-to-end AI-enabled project delivery: requirement gathering, solution design, implementation, testing, and business adoption.
• Work with real-time AI platforms, integrating AI insights into enterprise decision-making workflows.
• Should possess influencing and advisory skills.
• Responsible for team decisions.
• Engage with multiple teams and contribute to key decisions.
• Expected to provide solutions to problems that apply across multiple teams.
• Facilitate workshops and discussions to gather requirements and feedback from stakeholders.
• Mentor junior professionals in best practices and application development methodologies.

Professional & Technical Skills:

• Ability to bridge technical AI concepts with business goals, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder alignment.
• Hands-on experience in GenAI (LLMs, embeddings, vector databases) and Agentic AI applications (multi-agent systems, planning, reasoning) – demonstrated through project implementations.
• Strong fundamental knowledge of AI lifecycle, data analysis, statistical concepts of ML algorithms (supervised and unsupervised learning) and AI concepts of NN (Neural Networks) and NLP (Natural Language Processing).
• Solid grasp of prompt engineering, AI evaluation frameworks, and value realization in AI projects.

Must-To-Have Skills:

• Proficiency in SAP MM Materials Management.
• Strong understanding of application development frameworks and methodologies.
• Experience with integration of SAP MM with other SAP modules.
• Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Familiarity with database management and data modeling techniques.

Additional Information: The candidate should have a minimum of 15 years of experience in SAP MM Materials Management.
