CSOC Engineer

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and refactor our custom internal security platform, encompassing both backend (FastAPI) and frontend (React) development.
• Collaborate with security analysts to automate manual workflows, transforming them into reliable and efficient processes.
• Manage our infrastructure within Google Cloud Platform (GCP), utilizing Kubernetes for orchestration and Terraform for resource management.
• Employ monitoring and alerting tools like Prometheus and Grafana to proactively detect failures and ensure high availability of the owned internal security platform.
• Build and maintain API integrations to connect our detection tools, ticketing systems, and customer environments.
• Champion code quality through rigorous code reviews, effective testing practices, and robust CI/CD pipelines.

What We're Looking For

• A minimum of 3 years of experience building and deploying software in a production environment.
• Strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and/or Golang.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud providers, specifically GCP.
• A practical understanding of when to build complex systems versus when a simpler solution is more appropriate. You value testing, code quality, and application monitoring.
• The ability to clearly articulate technical trade-offs and collaborate effectively with a globally distributed team across different time zones.
• Experience in guiding and mentoring team members, fostering their professional growth.
• A demonstrated ability to learn new skills quickly and share knowledge with the broader team.

We'll Be Super Impressed If You Have Experience In Any Of These

• Building or maintaining a custom SIEM or SOAR platform.
• Working with event-driven architectures or message queues (e.g., Kafka, Pub/Sub).
• Previous experience at a CDN, cloud provider, or high-traffic platform.
• Experience working with geographically dispersed teams.

Work Details for Pune, India

• Work Hours: This position requires working scheduled hours from 7:30 PM – 4:30 AM IST.
• Work Location: This position is open to the preferred office location ONLY: Pune, India.
• Work Model: Fastly currently embraces a hybrid work model, offering flexibility to split time between the office and home.
• Travel Requirements: This position may require travel as needed.
• Salary: Starting salary will vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location. This role may be eligible for equity and discretionary bonus programs.
