Crypto Data Engineer Intern

Token Metrics is searching for a highly skilled and adaptable Big Data Engineer intern to support our Data Scientists and Engineering team. In this role, you will leverage a variety of tools and techniques, including SQL, Python, R, Java, and C++, to develop robust frameworks for data preparation. You will apply machine learning techniques to build and maintain data analysis structures, staying current with industry-standard programming and deployment strategies. Collaboration with team members will be essential to ensure project objectives are met effectively.

The Token Metrics internship program spans 3 months and is an unpaid, evaluative position. Successful interns may receive return offers based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data, processes, and code to identify and resolve issues, and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
• Collaborate with front-end developers and other team members to define project goals and create more functional, cohesive code that improves user experience.
• Generate innovative ideas for new programs, products, or features by staying informed about industry advancements and trends.
• Record and report data to relevant stakeholders, including clients and leadership.
• Engage in continuous learning and training to maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices, acquire new programming language skills, and provide improved support to colleagues.
• Assume leadership roles on projects as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Programming, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Additional education or relevant experience may be advantageous.
• Proficiency or understanding of programming languages such as Java, PHP, or Python, and familiarity with operating systems may be necessary.
• A strong grasp of the web development lifecycle, programming techniques, and associated tools.
• Emphasis on efficiency, user experience, and process optimization.
• Exceptional project and time management capabilities.
• Excellent problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
