Position Overview

We are seeking a Technical Specialist to join the ODOT Transportation Data Section as a Crash Data Management professional. This is a part-time (20 hours) remote opportunity based in the United States.

Primary Responsibilities

• Architect and implement logical structures for software systems and databases tailored for crash data management.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure accurate information collection processes.
• Lead design exploration and updates to existing Crash applications, ensuring system efficiency.
• Analyze and integrate new technologies into the current technology portfolio.
• Troubleshoot reported system issues by identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Provide estimates for task completion and communicate progress clearly to management.
• Manage multiple concurrent tasks while prioritizing work effectively.

Technical Requirements

• Develop software code changes within web-based technologies, client/server architectures, and SQL based environments.
• Demonstrate advanced skills in developing and updating software code for crash data systems.
• Show proficiency with the Information System Development Lifecycle (ISDL).

Professional Skills

• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Capability to interact professionally with customers, understand their needs, and document those requirements accurately.
• Demonstrated experience with Crash Data Management solutions is mandatory for this role.
