Control Systems Engineer II

Astrogate Labs is seeking a talented Control Systems Engineer II to join our dynamic team in Bengaluru, India. This full-time permanent role focuses on designing and implementing advanced control systems for cutting-edge optical communication systems on mobile platforms such as ships, aircraft, and satellites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design Pointing, Acquisition, and Tracking (PAT) systems for optical communication systems on mobile platforms.
• Explore, model, and design control systems for 2-axis/3-axis gimbals.
• Drive component selection and specification of interfaces for control systems.
• Develop and implement PAT and GNC algorithms on embedded platforms.
• Contribute to end-to-end system design, from concept through testing and deployment.
• Prepare documentation and presentations on designs, lab, and field tests.
• Participate in peer and external design reviews.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 2-3 years of experience in modeling and simulation of control systems.
• Familiarity with classical and modern control system methodologies.
• Proficiency in discrete-time signal processing (e.g., FIR, IIR filters), sampling concepts.
• Knowledge of frequency domain analysis (e.g., Fourier Transform).
• Experience implementing control algorithms on embedded hardware.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++, MATLAB, Simulink, Python, or similar languages.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
• Prior experience in the design, implementation, and testing of control systems for aerospace applications.
