Control Software Designer

Role Overview

As part of the Development Engineering team at Husky Technologies in Chennai, India, you will design, support, and troubleshoot control systems for Injection Molding Machines (IMM) and Mold controllers. This role thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment focused on developing creative solutions to complex technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Design control systems for IMM and Mold controller applications including servo drive and servo-hydraulic controls, injection molding process control.
• Create functional design specifications and validation plans for new machine functionality.
• Develop machine sequences (PLC IEC 61131-3), process control, and HMI in Windows environments.
• Troubleshoot and debug real-time and non-real-time software systems.
• Document all changes using TFS/VSTS and Azure DevOps resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical & Electronics, ECE, Instrumentation, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in automated control system design and troubleshooting (Senior Level).
• Experience with Beckhoff, Siemens, GE, ABB, and Allen Bradley products is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in PLC structured text language using IEC 61131-3 standard.
• Strong coding skills in C, C++, C#, or other high-level languages for HMI applications (Ruby).
• Deep knowledge of PC-based control systems and embedded systems architecture.
• Familiarity with industrial communication networks: RS232, RS485, Ethernet, CANOpen, Profibus, Profinet, EtherCAT.
• Certified experience with Beckhoff TwinCAT3 is a plus.

You must be able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly in English (verbal/written) while working within an Agile software design process using Test Driven Development methodologies. Experience integrating AI tools into development workflows is a distinct advantage.
