Consumer Experience Designer Lead

Sanofi is seeking a Consumer Experience (CX) Senior Designer/Design Lead for its Hyderabad, Telangana location. This role is pivotal in realizing Sanofi's vision for world-class user experiences across its global products and ecosystem. The Lead will partner with Product and Engineering teams to develop exceptional user experiences, driving the future of Sanofi's CX strategy. Collaboration with CX strategy & research, product, and engineering partners will be key to building consumer-focused design solutions at scale, fostering a user-centric design culture. Responsiveness, flexibility, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment are essential. This position requires strong leadership in the face of ambiguity, with a mandatory foundation in Product Design skills and Human-Centered Design processes.

Core responsibilities include onboarding Hyderabad-based designers into Sanofi's Digital Accelerator design practices and standards, ensuring adherence to defined design processes and documentation. The Lead will ensure consistent understanding and use of the Design System (tokens, components, variants, layouts) among Hyderabad designers, acting as a reference for layout philosophy and UI patterns. Translating design intent into clear implementation guidance for developers, and reviewing design files before handoff for implementation readiness are crucial. Support for developers in understanding design specifications, and participation in global product ideation workshops (Paris/U.S.) with subsequent translation of outcomes for Hyderabad teams are also key. Maintaining coherence across parallel projects, acting as quality control for design execution, and close collaboration with Design Leads in Paris and the U.S. are expected.

Qualifications include a strong UX foundation, comfort with user flows, information architecture, and interaction patterns, with the ability to clearly articulate UX decisions. Deep experience with design systems, component creation, usage, and maintenance, along with a strong understanding of spacing, grids, typography, tokens, and layout logic are required. A strong understanding of front-end development, including how designs translate into HTML/CSS/React, familiarity with concepts like components, props, states, and responsive behavior, and the ability to communicate effectively with developers are critical. Coaching and onboarding abilities, including teaching junior designers, enforcing standards constructively, and reviewing/correcting work, are essential. Workshop facilitation skills for ideation and alignment, and the ability to transform workshop outputs into structured design artifacts are also necessary.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Design, HCI, or a related field (Master's a plus), with 4+ years of experience in product strategy and design. A dynamic design portfolio showcasing design process and shipped products is mandatory. Demonstrated holistic and systems thinking, experience with iterative design sprints and Agile development, solid Product Design skills with Human-Centered design methods, and the ability to navigate complex problems are essential. Mastery of design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Miro, Adobe creative suite, and knowledge of Design Systems and platform human interface guidelines (iOS, Android, LMS, connected platforms) are required. Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines, along with experience in sketching, concept creation, wireframing, IA, sitemaps, user flows, rapid prototyping, and visual/brand design are needed. Understanding of web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are expected. Familiarity with pharma/health technology is a plus.
