EY's Healthcare Consulting practice is seeking a highly skilled Actuarial Senior Manager to join their dynamic team in Grand Rapids, MI. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to provide actuarial and analytical leadership on complex client engagements. You will be instrumental in leveraging technology-enabled analytics and AI-supported insights to modernize clients' actuarial and financial capabilities. The position involves leading workstreams for risk-based capital management, surplus strategy, and capital adequacy. You will oversee critical analyses such as claims trend assessments, experience studies, and forecasting to influence pricing, reserving, and financial planning. A key aspect of this role includes supporting product pricing and rate development for commercial and government programs, including Medicare and Medicaid. You will also provide actuarial leadership in valuation and reserving services, ensuring compliance with Actuarial Standards of Practice (ASOPs) and regulatory requirements. This role emphasizes collaboration with technology and analytics teams to implement advanced analytics, automation, and AI tools. You will guide clients in modernizing their actuarial operating models, including data pipelines, reporting automation, forecasting tools, and decision-support dashboards. Translating complex actuarial requirements for data scientists and AI practitioners, and evaluating emerging technologies will be integral. The Senior Manager will partner with engagement leaders to manage actuarial components of consulting projects, translating technical analyses into clear, executive-level insights. Advising clients on process optimization, internal reporting, and management information frameworks, while rigorously managing engagement risk, timelines, and quality, is expected. This role also encourages developing internal and external thought leadership and supporting business development efforts. Leading and mentoring actuarial and consulting professionals to foster a high-performance, inclusive team environment is a core responsibility.
