About the Role: Data Analytics
What's in it for you: We are seeking a motivated individual to rapidly cultivate advanced data analytics skills. This role involves sourcing and interpreting data, and generating high-quality insights into future trends. You will have the unique opportunity to enhance your expertise by collaborating with industry specialists within CRISIL. This will contribute to forming a comprehensive understanding of sectors such as Gas, Power, Renewables, Fuel, Oil, Chemicals, Agriculture commodities and fertilizers, and the Maritime & Trade industries.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze oil/gas prices, reserves, and energy commodity trends through secondary research and project-specific requirements.
- Gather and cleanse data from diverse sources, ensuring accuracy by addressing missing values, duplicates, and inconsistencies.
- Conduct statistical analyses to identify trends, patterns, and correlations, leveraging tools like Excel with VBA for automation.
- Develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI or Spotfire for effective stakeholder communication.
- Write SQL queries to extract data and collaborate with teams to define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and optimize processes.
- Automate repetitive tasks using Excel VBA macros and oversee data quality for continuous improvement.
- Assist in maintaining and enhancing proprietary analytical models and databases, including supply/demand and inventory models, currently offered to clients.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and creativity in developing deliverables that meet client needs and budgets.
What We're Looking For:
- High proficiency in data management.
- Advanced Excel skills (functions, pivot tables, VBA scripting) for data manipulation and automation.
- Practical experience with Power BI and/or Spotfire for creating visualizations and dynamic dashboards.
- Solid SQL knowledge for database querying; familiarity with Python or R is advantageous.
- Exceptional analytical thinking, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to simplify complex data for presentation.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; a minimum of 2 years of experience is preferred.
- A conceptual understanding of the oil/refining/petrochemical/upstream/downstream/agrochemical/Power/Renewable Energy/seed sectors is desirable.
