Connected Car Engineer - Backend Developer
Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI) in Bengaluru is seeking a Connected Car Engineer specializing in backend development. This role is within the Cloud, Data & Connected Services department and involves contributing to research and development, including design.
The position requires a full-time commitment and is available immediately. The role is based at Brigade Tech Gardens, Bengaluru.
About the Role
MBRDI is looking for an experienced Backend Developer with expertise in Java, Microservices, Spring Boot, and preferably Kotlin. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services and microservices architectures for enterprise applications, aligning with Mercedes-Benz global technology standards. The focus is on building secure and high-performing systems for connected car functionalities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Develop and support microservices-based architectures for enterprise applications.
- Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code following best engineering practices and coding standards.
- Perform unit testing and integration testing for backend components.
- Support deployment activities using Azure DevOps, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Ensure effective logging, debugging, monitoring, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, product owners, QA, and DevOps teams in an Agile environment.
Required Skills – Backend
- Strong proficiency in Java.
- Knowledge of Kotlin (preferred, not mandatory).
- Hands-on experience in Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
- Strong exposure to unit testing and integration testing.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps (CI/CD pipelines, build and release).
- Experience in logging, debugging, monitoring, and production issue resolution.
Qualifications
This role is advertised with the title "Full Stack Developer (Java & Angular)" on the job posting, but the primary focus for this specific opening is backend development. Experience with frontend technologies like Angular, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is beneficial but not the core requirement for this backend-focused position.
