Computer Vision MLE

About the Role

Mercor seeks a Senior Computer Vision Machine Learning Engineer for a high-impact, remote contract opportunity. You will benchmark baseline model performance on image samples, measure accuracy against held-out sets, and assess data quality to determine realistic system ceilings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate the feasibility of computer vision systems through rigorous representative sampling.
• Translate technical findings into clear, decision-grade reports for non-technical executives.
• Work independently in an asynchronous environment to meet strict deadlines and improve AI model performance.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Computer Vision (CV) and Machine Learning Engineering.
• Proven expertise classifying or grading physical objects from images.
• Strong discipline in evaluation, sampling strategies, and accuracy benchmarking.
• Excellent ability to assess technical feasibility and communicate complex ideas clearly.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with authentication, counterfeit detection, or anomaly detection systems.
• Familiarity with private equity diligence or time-boxed advisory roles.
• Hands-on experience with imaging hardware, capture pipelines, and edge/on-prem deployment.
