Job Title: Computer-Aided Engineer / Engineering Design Specialist
About the Role:
We are seeking a talented Engineering Design Specialist to join our team on an hourly contract basis. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing sophisticated simulation-based engineering problems crucial for training advanced AI models. Your responsibilities will include creating realistic design challenges that incorporate trade-offs, component sizing, and optimization, and validating engineering solutions through rigorous physics-based simulations and your deep domain knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop simulation-based engineering problems for advanced AI model training.
- Create realistic design challenges involving trade-offs, component sizing, and optimization.
- Validate engineering solutions using physics-based simulations and domain expertise.
- Design multi-step problem sets with comprehensive solutions, edge cases, and clear evaluation criteria.
- Analyze simulation outputs for correctness, feasibility, and physical realism.
- Ensure accuracy in units, boundary conditions, convergence, and system behavior.
- Document all problems, solutions, and evaluation logic in a clear and systematic manner.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance AI model performance.
Requirements:
- Master’s or PhD degree in a relevant engineering or applied science field.
- Proven hands-on engineering design experience with a strong track record of end-to-end problem-solving.
- In-depth expertise in at least one engineering domain such as Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, or Robotics.
- Proficiency in at least one open-source simulation tool relevant to your specific domain.
- Strong Python scripting skills (or equivalent) for simulation setup, execution, and analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to design complex, simulation-based problems that involve trade-offs and optimization.
- Exceptional attention to detail, particularly concerning units, boundary conditions, and physical accuracy.
- Strong analytical thinking skills and the ability to effectively evaluate edge cases and design correctness.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Compensation & Logistics:
- Compensation: $11 - $26 per hour
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 20–40 hours per week
